Tuition for the 2017-2018 school year is $22,950.00 (Grades K-7). The school is able to keep the tuition significantly below the actual cost of educating your child through a combination of government grants and fundraising.

Monthly Tuition Payments – $2,295.00 for September to April

Fees consisting of the following:

  • Admissions Fee of $750.00
  • Volunteer Commitment Deposit of $400.00 ***
  • School Supplies Fee of $250.00
  • Technology Fee of $125.00

Total Additional Fees – $1,525.00

FINAL TOTAL Registration Deposit Payment $6,115.00

*** Volunteer Deposit is fully refundable upon completion of 30 hours of volunteer work during the school year.

Annual Purdy's Fundraiser

It’s time for our annual Purdy’s fundraiser. Order forms and catalogues will be sent home by class teachers by Friday. Please check your child’s backpack. If you prefer to order online, click the link for your child’s class on the attached PDF. We receive 25% back from all sales so keep your Christmas needs in mind! Students & staff are asked to bring photos of family member who fought in any World Wars or conflicts. These will be displayed during our Remembrance Day ceremony on November 9th at 10:45am.

MAHS Cookie Dough Fundraiser

The holiday season is approaching, and with it, the need for sweet treats at social gatherings, class parties, and throughout the season in general. The Maplewood Alternative High School is selling cookie dough to help which will support their trip to Bamfield Marine Science Centre and Victoria in May!

Purchase cookie dough for $10.00 per pail, which makes approximately 48 cookies. Order deadline is Friday, November 10th. Pickup will be arranged for Friday, November 24th which is Parent/Teacher/Tutor Conference day.

The Card Project

Some KGMS students and teachers participated in The Card Project this year! The Card Project uses the children’s masterpieces to make professionally printed greeting cards and notebooks. The children made amazing art for this exciting fundraiser.

Every child will get a copy of their unique greeting card in mid-November. You can take a sneak peek of your child’s art and place an order online here! Click on ‘TO ORDER’ and ‘USE MY SCHOOL ACCESS CODE’ which is KG30.

Hotdog fundraiser

The high school students will be selling hotdogs, juice boxes and chips at lunch every Wednesday.

Hotdogs are $1 each, juice boxes & chips are 75 cents each.

Sharon Selby, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor has worked with KGMS on many occasions. She is offering her Toddler to Teen Parenting Course with 50% of the proceeds to the KGMS PAC!

Our annual Book Fair will take place in the Library.

Christmas Sing-a-long

Spring Break - March 17th to April 2nd

The school will be closed from Saturday, March 17th to Monday, April 2nd.

First day back after Spring Break - April 3rd

The first day back after Spring Break is Monday, April 3rd.

Pro-D Day and Q3 Report Writing - April 20th

Students will not attend on Friday, April 20th as this is a Professional Development and Q3 Report Writing Day.

Casual Day - April 27th

Pro-D Day - May 18th

Students will not attend on Friday, May 18th as this is a Professional Development Day.

Victoria Day - May 21st

The school will be closed on Monday, May 21st for the Victoria Day holiday.

Casual Day - May 25th

Report Writing Day - June 1st

Students will not attend on Friday, June 1st as this is a Report Writing Day.

Sports Day - June 7th

Sports day is on Thursday, June 7th. A hog dog lunch will be provided to students.

Casual Day - June 8th

The last casual day of the year is Friday, June 8th.

KGMS Has Talent Show

Our annual KGMS Has Talent Show will be on Thursday, June 14th. Please arrive early.

Family and friends are welcome to join us for what is always a fantastic show!
