Join the #KGMSGives Movement
Save the date for Giving Tuesday – November 30th, 2021. Last year our community helped us raise $150,000 for the KGMS Bursary, which supported multiple K-12 students who have complex learning differences such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD and anxiety. This year, we are launching our bi-annual Giving Campaign on #GivingTuesday (November 30th) – a day that encourages people to do good and help people in need. Join the #KGMSGives movement and support a child’s right to learn: Many students come to us feeling defeated due to their previous experiences. Their confidence is low, and they believe they are not capable of success. We help them reframe their idea of their future, and provide them with a life changing educational opportunity. By joining the #KGMSGives movement, you can show that you support the value of education, inclusion and fairness for kids with learning differences: your gift will help us continue to ensure that children who are struggling continue to have access to our program, so we can help them grow personally and experience greater academic success. Within our community we work hard to raise funds for Student Financial Aid, but there is such a huge need for support, and we can’t reach as many students as we would like. Help KGMS continue to secure a bright future for kids with learning differences! Every gift makes an impact, no matter the size. Today, YOU can make a huge impact on a child’s life. KGMS is grateful for our community – thank you for your support!

THE BEST OF ME GALA
The KGMS Best of Me Gala was held virtually on May 1, 2021. This year’s event took on an even greater importance than ever before as we raised over $150,000 to go towards our Bursary Fund, which supports kids who are struggling with their education, and their families, many of whom have been impacted financially by the COVID-19 crisis. The Best of Me Gala helped open the doors to learning for many deserving children. We could not have reached our goal without the help from our sponsors, auction donors and many volunteers. Their support and generosity helped make our school accessible to the many students who deserve the specialized learning experience that KGMS excels at providing.
History of KGMS
For over 40 years, Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School and Maplewood Alternative High School have helped kids build skills and develop tools to be successful throughout their lives. We empower students by unlocking and removing obstacles to learning so that each child can experience personal growth and academic achievement. Our school specializes in educating and growing the confidence of students with dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, autism and other learning challenges in Grades K – 12 and our approach is designed to develop the whole child.
